How important is it to have 1 lawn maintenance company doing your lawn and your neighbors at the same time?
If you have not coordinated with the neighbor absolutely none...just good for the guy doing the work..same charge for you..on my street we have the lawn guys in the spring. and the sprinkler guys in the fall (blow out the lines) we get together and plan so each group has 2 days work on 1 street and we get a 20% discount for doing so.
What if the neighbors don't want to change? I would say it may look nicer but you have to do what you need to do for you not your neighbors. Unless there is some kind of code you have to follow for your neighborhood. None of my neighbors worry about who mowes when. I think as long as it is done regularly it is ok to be done on different days. I would not keep paying someone I'm not happy with. Higher who you want.
A crap job is a crap job no matter when it's done. The only reason to have the lawn guys do it all at one time is so the lawns are all the same height, and look really nice and uniform. If the lawn guys do a crap job, the lawns won't look really nice, they'll look weedy, with trees that aren't trimmed right, and bushes that are all over the place. These clowns have only three things going for them that are worth considering: 1: They do mow all the lawns at the same time, which can look nice. 2: You know what to expect, consistently, from them. 3: The whole neighborhood knows and trusts them. If you get a new company, you might even be able to have them come on the same day, so #1 is no big deal. It's 2 and 3 that are the main issue. Around here, fliers for new lawn companies are a dozen a day, but how many of them are really as good as the flier says? Moreover, how many of them are legitimate businesses, and not a group of scammers hoping to scope the houses out, and maybe get some keys so they can break in? Most, I'm sure are legitimate, but if you don't know anything about the new company, maybe you should do some research before you have them over for a consultation. Of course, it's always good to talk with the neighbors as well, and if you can get a couple of them together with you on this, you might be saving the company enough gas money that they can afford to cut you a discount. Find out what the neighbors think about the current lawn guys, and do a little research into the new ones. Any decent company can set you up with a satisfied customer so you can find out how they work, and how the homeowners feel about them. A really good company won't have to, because you'll know someone who uses them. Also, if you are part of a homeowner's association, or if you rent in a community, it may not be up to you to decide who mows the lawn, so be sure you're not stepping on any toes, and if you have a specific problem with the current lawn guys, there'll be someone to hear you out on a suggestion like this.
just have your new guy do the work the same day as the other lawns are done, & problem is solved.

The neighborhood all using the same maintenance company and it all being done the same day is most advantageous for whom? A. The maintenance company B. The maintenance company C. The maintenance company You guessed it the maintenance company. I would talk to my neighbors and get their opinion and then if the maintenance company was willing to give us a group discount which would be to their advantage I would probably consider doing it.
