What do you all wear when your mowing the lawn?

I use a power mower and protect my legs from flying debris by wearing jeans and boots. Once to go to the hospital to get something removed that was thrown from the mower, you will understand.

I wear a one piece bathing suit with a pair of nylon shorts. Very cool for me as the bathing suit has a tank top and the shorts are light weight.

I also wear jeans to mow the grass to protect my legs. Even when its 100 degrees outside i'd rather mow in jeans and get hot than go to the hospital because of a small rock. When its really hot out I do take my t-shirt off to mow.

To add to sensible's answer, in addition to good leg and feet protection, ear plugs for especially noisy machines, eye protection from flying objects and gloves.....vibration absorbing gloves if you mow more than 30 minutes. Someone flip flops and shorts just doesn't seem appropriate around machine parts swirling at such great speed...........and possible ground dwelling insects. I assume these folks also wear the same apparel when using weed whackers that will nicely trim your toes as well as the weeds.

Since I use a Polaris ATV with a Tow Behind 54" Mower I can be comfy and Airy while Mowing, I like to wear loose fitting Shorts for Air Ventilation and a Tank top or sleevless Tee. And I keep a water bottle in the front compartment.

Whilst at first glance this question may seem trivial I can see some sense in it. I would suggest it would depend on where you are mowing and what your lawn is like. I wear sweat pants and trainers and will invariably keep my tee shirt on but my lawn is not over big and is mowed regularly in the season. As I am in England the insect life is not dangerous and by now any stones, etc are long gone

Shorts, sandals, a t-shirt or bathing suit top, sunglasses and my mp3 player. We have a huge 72" 1445 John Deere mower and 10 acres to mow. When I weed eat though I put jeans and shoes on.
